Hey guys recently purchased a second-hand ve calais v, great ride real happy and glad have found this great forum

Got both sets of flip keys from the seller but noticed one of them wasn't working, thinking it must have just been a flat battery.... other was working so it wasn't an issue

But finally got around to getting the battery changed and the bastard still won't work, I've opened it up and can't see anything standing out that might be the cause.... any ideas??

Thinking it may be a board issue.. if so is this something a Holden maintenance can fix easily and hopefully minimal cost....?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

is it the remot part that wont work or the imobaliser side of things
the coading for the remote is different so if the buttons dont work try starting the car with it.

because the imobaliser chip is in the flip part of the key. you may find that this still works and the buttons a simply stuffed.
if it also wont start the car then holden can programme this for you for about $120

I can start the car with the key but the buttons don't work for locking/unlocking or oening the boot
Might just take it in and see what they say but yeah if it's gonna cost hundreds I think I'll leave it...

if the transponder side is working eg starting the car no worries then it is the remote witch you can get from Holden separately, as for the price im not to sure sorry, I know the complete keys up here are around the 400ish mark

i would think the same as ricey here if the battery has been flat for some time then the coding might be lost.

im not 100% but im pretty sure theses keys work on a rolling code of sorts so a simple rematch to your car and you should be right.

if the buttons are cactus you can buy them of ebay cheap as. you can even buy any other used commy key flip and non flip heads are the same. then have that coaded to your car.

You can buy the genuine buttons on their own from Holden fairly cheaply...

yup, apparently you have a limited time in which to swap out the battery otherwise the coding is lost.
This was for a suzuki, but same deal goes for holden.
Also, put the battery in the right way. I didn't, and apparently my key is stuffed because of that.
