Hi guys,

I've tried to find the answer to this but can't seem to locate it...

Does anyone have any images/photos of where there are easy-to-reach- holes in the firewall to be able to feed through wires for power/antenna cables/etc in a Series 2 VE Commodore?

If you have pictures, please show them...

Thanks heaps...

dont have photos but if u follow the loom off the back drivers side of the engine it goes behind the brake booster i think and there is a big grommet there that will fit most stuff thru, it does push out easy too from one side, you will see it with a torch also easy to get to from inside as well...

I assume it's similar to series 1. If so there is a very convenient large rubber grommet in the corner of the firewall behind the glovebox. It leads into the mesh covered box at back passenger side in engine bay. Where you get to the pollen filter for the vent/air con system. I have photos at home and will try to post tonight.

Thanks Calais57. After you telling me about the 'filter box' I did some forum searching for replacing cabin filters, etc. Found someone had posted a picture of instructions from a filter with how to access it...

(Post if anyone's interested: https://forums.justcommodores.com.au/threads/cabin-filter.112058 )

I can't believe how easy and convenient that grommet was to access...

Thanks again.

Happy to help. If you have put a slit in the grommet for your cables, make sure you seal with some silicone or similar. Water can get in at that point.

Cheers.

Old thread but still helpful to those doing searches.

There are also some good earth points spare on the Instrument panel assembly. Particularly on the left side there's two and the rear most one should clear the harness with plenty of room.
