That is not critical and hence why others have posted the gearbox type.

The code on the gearbox is like a part number and there quite a few that are compatible because they are the same gearboxes. Just get a 6L80e for a VE and you are fine.
thank u for that. im just looking around what other trans will fit and is better than the 6l80e

You won’t find one.

If you change the gearbox you have, it’s a dark path to becoming poor. Conversions are extremely complicated.

A better gearbox that is easier to do is the TR6060. Make it a manual.

all good. just seeing the best way to go around it as I got quoted $6.6k for a reco.

Mine was completly reco'd early last year for $5.6k.

6L90e, with its 'magic torque convertor'.

l read that quote as $5700.00. Which is reco.
The first part says $3000.00 - $3500.00. Depends on parts needed or $5700.00 for a reco one.
