Ve ss
Hi I had the flex plate replaced in my ve ss 6 speed the mechanic that done it offered to do a cash job after hours a bit cheaper for me so than I’ve realised he also owns a ve ss but his is manual so I thought there could not be much of interest to him to do some thing shifty like swapping some thing but also realised he has a vz auto but is a v6 are the gearbox’s compatible, before I bought my car it was stated work to the gearbox bigger sump tunned bigger talk converter ect any way he didn’t put the circlip on front transmission lines and was at work wen I collected car so was a complete disaster wen I got down the road any way I lost all gears so I put 3 litres in gearbox and it seemed to be fine so than I went back to him and said we put more fluid in it he put a couple of pumps in it and checked it while was cold I think something shifty is happening also wen I got home tonight the only gear I could get was drive every gear is just drive I’ve been feeling the auto shifter feels loose and very different, could some one please give me advice on wat could have happened weather or not he is up to something shifty

Dude, can't make sense of half of your post. Sounds like your mechanic is retarded tho, but you don't really have much recourse because it was a cashy. If he didn't put an important circlip on properly it's likely he overlooked connecting the shifter properly when he put the gearbox back in, it's just a linkage with a few bolts.

Wouldn't really be leaving a pump change to a regular mechanic tho, automatic gearboxes are quite complex. While not specialist you really want somebody that's had a decent amount of experience with them.

Did your oil dump out or did he just not fill it?

VZ v6 is a 4 speed 4l60e. I doubt much internally is compatible and it's not something you can just swap with a 6 speed from a Commo one gen newer with a different engine, mainly due to electronics and bellhousing patterns.

I have had issues with my 2010 s1 wagon. I bought it 3 months ago already I have changed the transmission twice in 2 weeks and Im having troube with it revving too high and gear changing. Now evertime I drive I get the ESP turn off , ABS and Airbag faults and once a Mechanism Failure fault. I had no speedo after my gearbox was changed the first time until the mechanics figured out that it only came back when my original computer was used. 2 weeks later the transmission blew. They replaced it charged me $250 for a new computer and coding and nothings changed. WTF is the problem??? I had it serviced a couple weeks before I changed transmission the . 1st time, a waste of $400 and now seems a waste of 1300 on changing gearboxes .

Would have tried throttle position sensor first. Sounds like you might have bigger electrical gremlins though.

Thanks. I actually thought initially that it need transmission fluid, hence why it was serviced because Holden stiched us right up not allowimg owners to do it themselves.

When you say the Throttle Piston Sensor, how do you mean that could be causing yhe issue. As iy was this afternoon everytime I took off it would rev til 4-4.500 before changing from 1st to second and even when my foot was off accelerator it continued high reving for a second. Im interested why not one mechanic has mentioned this as a possibility and I want to explore it further thanks btw
