Hi crew,
So I replaced heat hoses as they where leaking last week, the 3 days later noticed radiator cap leaking(was 120kpa replaced with 140kpa).
Now the top radiator hose just blow off and has broken top radiator spout too.
I realise it looking for the weakest point in the cooling system so will replace radiator,up and lower hoses plus clamps.
But I was wondering which way the cooling system flows as worried where all the plastic is and hope none have gone in the engine.
I will be flushing the engine and taking the thermo off while doing this.
Any advise would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Have a look in the radiator hose as the coolant neck is usually held in place by the hose clamp when it snaps off, it's super common. Unsure for LS, but of all the engines I've worked on hot water flows out of the engine into the radiator at the top - one of the reasons the top neck commonly breaks off due to heat cycling fatiguing the plastic.

the pump sucks in from the bottom and pushes into block then returns thru heads to top of radiator

Thanks for the replys.
Just was worried cause when it broke off it wasn't one piece and i have only found pieces. So hopefully its fell on the road or in the radiator.
I had the heater on at the time of it breaking,so thermo probably was open.
When I fush should I remove waterpump
Also any recommendations on replacements, its an L98.
Thank again

Nah, wouldn't bother removing the pump yet, will likely shake out of the top tank of the radiator when it drys off. How big are the missing pieces?

Cheers.
Not to sure how big the pieces that are missing, but I have found about half of the neck/spout so far and that was in 2 pieces.

Probably wouldn’t be silly to replace the water pump while your at it especially if it’s the original one
