I have a VE SS and engine light came on with a P2271 bank1 sensor 2, I replaced the O2 sensor on the driver side and cleared the engine code.

Engine code came back on 2 days later with the same code.

Could it be the catalytic converter?

Try the same sensor on the passenger side.

Probably wouldn’t hurt to change them all if you can afford it they are a service item supposed to be replaced 5 yearly

I've had plenty of issues similar when using non genuine O2 sensors.

Can you read live data of the O2 sensors?

The pre-cat O2 sensors should be jumping between high and low voltage constantly and the post-cat O2 sensors should be steady high voltage. Check at idle and 2000rpm .
