Gday there,

I have a VS Commodore and have just bought a set of 18" VE SS rims with 245/45 Achilles tyres. They won't fit under the suspension and I was wondering if anyone can tell me whether smaller tyres will fit or anything else and also the general dimensions of the rim and the offset.

Any helps much appreciated cheers :)

235/40/18 is the correct size. The rims will also need machining to fit correctly.

^^^ This.

It's ensuring that you get the correct profile for the width. I woulnd't be surprised if you can fit a 245 with a 35 profile.

VE's run a much bigger overall diameter tyre so thus why it's not fitting. Plus the centre bore needs to be sorted... and the contact face machined for correct offset?

You should be able to get 245s under there.. I have 245/45 18s on my VR and it sits on ultra lows..

How accurate is your speedo ?

What are your struts? That could also play apart. Unless your talking about the rears. Im using monroe struts with SLs and i will only fit 235. However, it depends what offset you have. Looking at my receipt for the rims it quotes: 17X8 5/120 P48. Im going to GUESS that P48 is the offset. This is why i have a staggered fitment.

Thanks y'all for the replies. So 235/35s would fit? Im not sure bout the struts, they're bog standard. I think they're just normal VE SS rims so I don't know about specifics. Ummm speedo was pretty accurate as I just had interceptors on there before, but what happens with the larger wheel diameter can I get my speedo recalibrated?
Also what happens with wheel nuts? Did yous get specific ones or somethin different?

Cheers
