Hello, my SSV cranks for about 2 to 3 seconds before it fires. Sometimes times out. Other than that drives great. Have put in new battery. Put through fuel cleaner. Has been doung it for about 6 months. Any ideas?

SS Commodore - Ford Territory ... both camps
Mine's about the same, 2sec or so each time. What's concerning you?

It has always started instantly (within half a second). Now every third time I try to start it, it turns over strong but does not start. Then on second turn of the key starts instantly. If it does start on first try it turns over way too long. No fault codes come up. I can hear fuel pump prime. It is like a delay in fuel getting into engine.

Can you get someone to monitor the fuel pressure during the start?

My Magnum was similar to this just before the fuel pump wiring plug overheated and open circuited...

Possibly injector(s) leaking down and not holding fuel pressure when engine is turned off.

Took it for a drive tonight and ignition timed out every time and instantly started on second try. I turned on ignition, primed system. Turned off for 60 sec. Still timed out. How do I check the injectors? Is that common to have to change them?

Agreed, same thing happened with my fuel pump on my old VE SSV.

My fuel pump is only about 3 years old. What was the cause of your issues? Bad pump or bad plug?
