You don't tune to fix problems on EFI engines. The tune is burnt into a chip, it can't just change on it's own.

Tuning to fix a problem is just masking a symptom, not actually fixing the root issue. Something else is wrong.

I'd say you've either made the MAF dirtier in the process, or damaged it, or there's a vacuum leak somewhere (probably most likely).

u cant tune the throttle back to normal its a learning PI controlled system, something is causing it to play up or wasnt relearned properly or just needs time to adjust to the new airflow, id check fueling also encase maf is the issue, excess fueling rich/lean will change the idle characteristics

just what the trims are doing to see if there is too much or too little being injected, if the idle was good before and all u have done is clean the TB and the MAF then the TB wont be out it will just have new small corrections to apply and get use to, but if the MAF is now affected the fueling lean or richer then whats needed can affect idle and then the TB can be trying to correct for that error also, or the TB may just need a proper reset it can be hard and ive never had any issues with TB cleaning or disconnecting the battery it sometimes needs to be actually reset by a scan tool, it dosnt take much at idle to increase the airflow so if there was a small section filled by gunk and now its free dosnt take much to idle up so a relearn is best, also best to not modify the first 20-25% of blade movement ( porting ) can have big dramas

Ive checked for vaccum leaks cant see any..i cant see how i would of damged the MAF. All i did was squirt MAF cleaner through it..

There could be a chance the MAF is still buggered, or your cleaning method made things worst.
We did the same to a mates MAF sensor. Sprayed it with MAF cleaner lightly, still had problems. Another day tried again.... nothing.
Another day sprayed it with alot, kind of made things worst for a little while then nothing...

Replaced MAF sensor ... Fixed lol

OP what did you use to clean the MAF exactly, and what did you use to clean the throttle body?
The presumption is you used two seperate aerosols with both components removed from vehicle, disconnected. Because it is not the same solvent.
Also how did you care for the green rubber TB seal on R&R?
To check for air leaks there is no way to do that visually. Read up on using aerosol to do that properly.
Is your car running the stock tune? Should have definitely thrown a code with that consumption.
Has it got stock exhaust or aftermarket been fitted?
