VE SSV Nav headunit problem

Hey everyone been searching for an answer for a while now and can't seem to find an answer.

2007 ssv blaupunkt head unit with navigation dual zone climate.

Everything works fine ie radio, buttons, a/c etc but the screen itself and button lights turn on and off constantly like its powering up and shutting down over and over. We've tried removing the fascia, refitting it and pressing down on the unit but nothing seems to work.

Before forking out 1000s to get a replacement unit has anyone had the same issues? Has anyone had just the fascia replaced? If so any success? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Getting sick and tired of hitting a wrong button and not knowing what menu we're on haha

Try cleaning the connections between the two units

Alt is charging at 14-15 most days. Drops down a bit sometimes but they have a variable charge rate yeah? I'll test the battery tonight
