VE SSV ute
Hi guys new ute going for first 3000km check next week.
What do i ask them(holden) to check out.
Have got some noise/rattles in cente of dash unsure if road surface related or AC/ fan related yet, seems to come and go. But when it happens and if I put some pressure (finger) on plastic above the centre vents (just in front LCD display of oil pressure etc.), the noise goes away...or quietens down considerable.

Rest of car is good, got a occasional click noise from front end ( drivers side?) as car changes from 2 to 3 (Auto 6 speed)., suspension or automatic trans, hard to tell from inside car.

Any good advice welcomed, othere wise very happy and smooth ride.
Cheers

If Holden do the first/complimantry services anything like the dealer I work at, it'll be a first yr apprentice working on it, and they will basically check operation of front and rear lights, wipers and check under bonnet fluid levels and tyre pressures. If you have concerns, speak to the service advisor who you book it in with. If the are unhelpful, go to the salesperson who you dealt with, quite often they can be a big help in getting things done with service.

Had a similar problem with a creaking noise coming fro. The centre of the dash. Had tje dash removed and the clips replaced as they had lost tension. Fixed the problem. Mine's just on 30,000km now so odd if your clips had already gone. Might be something you need to persevere with also. Had it back a couple of times and ended up taking the bloke for a drive as it didn't happen all the time. Creaking noise has gone but while the dash was out somehow my bluetooth is now rooted. Goes back in a couple of weeks for a new gearbox and a front bar respray (was never primed at factory???) so I can hold out on Bluetooth until then.

Yep. Brand spankers gearbox has my name on it when it gets into the country (couple of weeks they reckon). It's actually a case for a pat on the back for my Holden dealer (don't think I'm allowed to post their name here). I had the ute up there for a couple of unrelated warranty issues (power steering pulley, creaking dash and paint flaking off the front bar) and mentioned my clutch pedal had started squeaking a little. They found the gearbox fault while they had the clutch assembly apart. I hadn't noticed the fault as I'm quite used to notchy, noisy gearboxes and put it down to the fact that I hadn't spent Audi money on a car so it's probably normal. So thank you Holden dealer for picking up in that. There are a few people on this site who ice noticed are on their second manual box so it must be a relatively common fault. There's allegedly been an update to the gearbox which has fixed the issues.

Apologies for hijacking the thread SSV001 - when you take your car in, ask every question you can think of. It will mean that they're more thorough with their inspections.
