Hi, I know this has been a popular topic in the past, but I need to revisit the old, "steering wheel turning-changing radio stations" issue.
My question - apart from paying $500 odd to get the problem fixed with a new clock spring, is there a way of disconnecting the controls so that you only use the console controls? Preferably without dismantling the steering wheel. Thanks

The only way to achieve what you want would be to disconnect the plugs inside the steering wheel.

$500 to replace a clock spring is the kind of quote, someone, who doesn't want to do the job, gives.

Thanks. I only mentioned that amount cos some of the old posts I found were throwing around the $450 to $550 quotes. Someone even had a link to a new one for $500. I’ll do some more googling. Also it’s a 2012 Z series which is a series 2 I think
