I've got the same knock sound and going to change my strut top mounts and sway bar bushes. Do I need to grease both up ?

Sometimes a knocking noise can be caused by worn brake caliper slide pins.

Or Calliper Shims, which was a little rattle that got the better of me, and got hold of some replacements,
and that fixed that noise.

Sometimes they may provide rubber grease with some replacement bushes.

Depends on the strut top material. The factory rubber strut tops and Super Pro polylast strut tops don't need greasing.
Urethane strut tops do require grease.

I changed my strut tops today and the sway bar d bushes and I still have a knock in the front when I hit a bump or uneven surface. What else could I be ? The end links or lower control arms ?

Also when I reinstalled my whole front shock assembly, is the top of the strut tower where the top notch of where the spring starts meant to be facing in the inside of the strut tower towards the engine? As I couldn't find any marking or that w on the top

I have the same issue, have replaced strut top bushes link arms and d bushes, was better to drive but still knocking, waiting on lower control arms and castor arms and if that doesn't fix it it's the struts...Not very expensive and easy to do yourself at home with basic tools and your whole front end is new

Sorry to bump this thread again.
I’m having issues with knocking, clunking and creaking over bumps after all new shocks, every bush and arms, sway bar links etc.
it also knocks while slowing down.
I’m suspecting something is installed wrong. Specifically the top strut mounts, but I could be wrong.
Has anyone solved any similar issues please?
