Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a VE SV6 sedan, but I don't know which model is best, I know 2006-7 had some technical problems, and I wanted to know if in the later years they made any big improvements that should be considered. I want a year that would be possible to get second hand for under 18000, what year do you guys think is the best year VE and why? Thanks in advance!
I have owned or still own four SV6 Manuals, a 2008 MY09, a 2011 MY11, a 2013 MY12.5 and a 2013 MY14 VF. Ignoring the VF due cost, the biggest improvement by far came with the Series II (MY11 to MY12.5 and 2011 to 2013). This was particularly so for the manual, as the new gearing improved drivability no end. The entertainment system was also a big improvement, and lots of Series II were fitted with rear parking sensors and a rear camera. If I was in your situation, I would be looking at MY11 or later.
Thanks for that, yeah I think I read in another thread that there were good improvements I'm the MY11 so I'll try as hard as I can to find a decent one for under 18k Thanks again man, you have cemented my descision.
