Maybe but atleast they had a red hot go at it . Why buy a rear wheel drive sports car if your not going to have any fun in it . Lifes to short not to have fun every once in a while . I've done all there is to do on a car or a motorbike and I've had a few crashes but in my experience its worth it. I've Maxed a rented 911 turbo in germany , ive done the black forest run on a Honda Fireblade . Ive driven from London to the The Nürburgring stayed and did 25 laps. And just recently after a few too many drinks after a broncos game at the Caxton i rode a Pit bike all the way down the steps of The Barracks shopping down across the road to love and rockets for a beer and a nice lappy.
no one is saying you shouldn't have fun in a rear drive car - but learn to do it properly first - the thought of kids teaching themselves to slide a car on public roads is nauseating! Besides, powersliding/drifting is only one of the drawcards of rear drive. Trying to maintain traction and balance in some tight, twisty stuff is often more challenging. Any monkey can hang the tail out (not saying drifting and powersliding isn't a skill - and a good skill to have - before anyone has a hissy).
Powersliding and Drifting is an awesome sport in a controlled environment, i have been to winton Drift Matsuri and other drift events up there many times i have 3 mates with drift cars. 2 skylines and bloke with a psycho RX7 its amazing and sick being in the car and ripping the handbrake at 180km/h down the back straight and just sliding through the S's its really incredible..... Drifting on the roads is just pure dumb and hazardous to the driver, passenger and any spectators or passer bys... especially in a car that has huge body roll and can be over corrected very easily..... I am all for drifting on tracks or enclosed events! i have seen my mate drift his car into a fence...... His race car.... he hit a wet patch and slid onto the curve and into a wooden fence...... imagine if it was a pole.... fark its just stupid! get a real drift car and do it on the track if your that keen! I couldnt bear to slide my SV6 around its my pride and joy...... i dont want to risk putting it into a tree and spend hundreds on tyres every month.... its just not worth it! not to mention the fun police are around every corner and a lowered commodore with P plates attracts enough attention! The amount of stress drifting puts on a car is huge as well... a standard SV6 after time is going to start getting rattles and things will need fixing..... its just not worth the hassle! Enjoy the car mate dont abuse it!
I think the rear lights are rubbish and people who buy them are stupid, though the front lights are okay , do they came in any other colour other then that uguly red/orange.. ( angel lights )? ??
