Mate, you can order a VZ with the Gen4. Doesn't have to be a HSV either.

Any V8 Holdens made from January 2006 onwards will have the Gen4, because the LS1s no longer meet emissions standards.

Gen IV in VZ 0 to 100 in 5.5 seconds. Can't wait to see VE times.

I'm pretty sure the 6L in the VZ or VE isn't a gen4/LS2. HSV said that regular holdens weren't going to get the LS2 motor. It's a different 6L in the VZ.

I'm making mistakes with the name as Holden Dealers were advertising the LS2 motor as the Gen4. I know that they're different motors. And I believe that the VE will have DOD. They need marketing to push the fuel economy as the car will be heaver compared to the VZ.

Gen 4 is the 'Family name'. ie: The 4th Generation of GM V8 engines.

LS2 is the Gen 4 V8 used by HSV
L76 is the Gen 4 V8 used by Holden in VZ

I believe that there isn't that much difference between the two, bar a few hi-po parts on the LS2. I suppose it is the same as LS6 vs LS1.

The engine in VE will still be called L76, but it will have DoD.

By the time the VE is out, I reckon the Edit guru's will have the L76 all figured out and ready to go (unless DoD creates changes???).

How different could it be to LS1/LS2 edit? (or HPT or VCMS or whatever else...)
