Before or after it became a wreck?the trans was out of a running drive wreck shifted fine in
I unplugged the trans plug and test drove the car it ran in 3rd gearUnplug the big plug on the transmission and test drive, this will put the transmission into limp home mode which will give you 3rd gear starts, if you have this the most likely cause is the shift solenoid A.
I drove the wreck before and after it was damaged and 1/2 hour before I pulled the box outBefore or after it became a wreck?

so you are saying that then that means the shift solenoid a is no good
Yes ?
is there any other causes ?
I drove the car the box came out of just before I pulled the box out and it was fine then that's all all the gear worked fine shifted good that's all that confuses me
is there a way of testing that solenoid in the car ?
(Will be messy ) Undo or loosen one of the oil line then start the car for second or two see if the pump working,
Because there is no reason (other then installation problem/fault) it shouldn't work in yours.
