Hey there!

My 09 VE has recently developed a bit of an engine rumble at idle and low throttle driving speeds. It disappears when I give it some juice.

And this is with the aircon off.

Idle speed is just over 500rpm according to the dash dial – probably 525? (The rumble is gone at about 600rpm.)

Is this the correct idle?

Or might there be something else happening with the tune, or a fouled injector or something?

Running 95.

Advice welcome ... before I take it to a mechanic or (gulp) a Holden workshop.

Cheers

Just did a freeway drive and can report:

The rumble is somewhat present in top gear with just a little throttle – that's about 1100rpm.

And when I select reverse the rumble is even more noticeable – giving the car quite a shake.

Engine mounts maybe?

My mechanic took a look at it and agreed it was not right – more than just incorrect idle. Suspected engine mounts and tested – load at standstill made the engine rise up visibly ... both in D and R. Swapping out for new next week.
