No date has been confirmed however it is known that the plant is shutting down for several weeks in July to retool for the new model. That would indicate a late September/early October release to me.

Must be reasonably close as the "Run Out" sales have started in Sydney.

Series 1 will be ramping down in July and August.
Series 2 will be built in September for an October Release.

Dealers can't order stock for July or August. Vehicles are being allocated directly by Holden. This will be to ensure that all stocks of current parts are used up as much as possible.

There will be a couple of new colour options, as a few have been deleted already (Sandstorm and Atomic)

No LPG variants are being built in July and August (a change is coming up, haven't heard what it is).
No V8's will be built in July.
Restricted production of V8 Auto's in August.

I have heard that the V8 is becoming a 6.2lt in the Series 2. The L99 makes sense in the Auto, because it has AFM and VVT. It's currently available in the Camaro in the US and makes approx 299kW. The manual's I would presume are going to be a LS3.

It'll be interesting to see what HSV does? Either the 7lt from the W427 or perhaps supercharged LS3.

I doubt it. DOD is not that old and DI for V8's is still a while away from my information. Minor tweaks for the v8 at best.

lol it would be pretty funny we all wna know what the new mode looks like but we might be in for a shock wen it turns out like the vt/vx or vy/vz scenario of almost looks the same that would be bitter dissapointment but i guess its only a series 2 not a new model yeah?

dont hold your breath.... it's only cosmetic upgrades to the interior and body. a refresh to an otherwise successful model to keep it going for a few more years.

I went to the dealers the other day; they said the version 2 will have an interior upgrade.

I went to my service people and also spoke to a salesman, they are not letting on but they hinted at a date of September and also indicated that the new model will have fog lights or some shite like that; but mainly internal make over which is great news.

One of the things that shites me about the VE is the front plastic adjacent to the windscreen; who in their right mind fits a plastic material that is concave? Sure the surface does not reflect but it's a pain in the butt to clean.

I also hope that the new model have options that are applicable / work together!

You guys know that a option is the Country Pack but you can't buy a country pack with LSD; that's just plain dumb.

You can by a SV6 with LSD and then add pedders suspension but Holdens don't have a package that includes Country Pack and LSD. It's even more dumber with the Sports Wagon!

Surely, these guys have worked it out that "Country Pack" means "off road"!

Off road means, a slightly higher vehicle plus LSD for "Dirt Roads".

Another thing I hope they will fix is the electrics! If a bloke goes on a shooting or fishing trip, ya better run your VE every week otherwise you'll have a flat battery! Maybe I'm wrong but there should be a way of turning off all the electrics including alarm so that there is no power drainage.

Minor at best. My tip is think cruze for a minor front end make over. Interior is given a freshen up.

There is a way. Just get your auto electrician to fit a battery isolator switch. Not hard I would have thought and if it is a concealed switch it is also a useful anti-theft device.

So far Holden does not make cars whose entire electrics go into total confusion mode, and stay there, the minute the power from the battery is disconnected. Don't worry though there is probably some computer geek somewhere who will come up with a great new improved electronics system for GMH that will do that.
