If you're working the heads send them to higgins race heads and get a propper job done. He'll Newen CNC cut the guides then CNC port the heads.

But the stock heads flow enough that porting won't show much gains on a 6l you really need 7l+

With cam I recommend the BTR cams as Brian Tooley is a wizard with engines. He's cams are all gound and made at Comps machine shop.

I see your in NZ mate I’d highly recommend talking to Wayne at protune automotive in manakau he’s a guru with LS stuff, send to him for tuning if your gonna do the mechanical work yourself

Thanks guys. So...guy I work with...Phil, owner of this soon to be Monster..had some bad words come to his ears...and decided for me not to port and polish the heads. I will do it on my L98 in my Bmw and see the results. Annnnyway...WHAT A FREAKIN JOB!!!! Stage 2 cam kit from Franklin Cams, Dod and inlet kit from Mace, bush kit for rockers from I dont know, still to price up resonators, fab H pipe, rear muffs and fab tips...flip...exciting!!!

make sure the timing chain tensioner is ok, can be better to use a early LS2 dog bone type, i have the same as u have and mine broke and i found the tension spring in the sump, u dont get any issues with the dog bone type
