have a ve vy Calais v6

So is it a VE or a VY? If it's a VE just swap everything over. If it's a VY, well, you didn't want to hear how hard it was.

VZ Crewman, VZ Cross 8, & ya mum.
A VY (?) You could source an 06 VZ loom and ECU and BCM with matching PIM and key head. They ran the 6ltr.
VE loom will be as useful to you as tits on a bull.
Gearbox will be a challenge. Can you use your VY gearbox?

If not find the VZ Crewman 6spd auto conversion thread, on this forum.

You’ll need a VZ V8 K frame.
New front springs to suit V8.
VE brakes will not be straight forward.

You’ll need someone to reprogram your VY instrument cluster to suit the V8. Chat to @Tazzl from Envyous Customs.

Find a VZ V8 radiator.

Sort a mobile AC guy to degas the AC.

Have a look at some of Laty’s Garage on YouTube. He did a similar swap.

Have fun, it’s going to do your head in.

If you are doing the Labour yourself, then it should be straight foward swap. Thats if you have a VE Calais and not a VY. You mention both so dont know which one you have.

You will need a ECU and matching BCM and full loom if possible from a Calais V V8 to avoid as many headaches as possible.
(You won't need the interior looms, just the ones connecting to the BCM into he engine bay.
You will need a cluster from a V8, not sure if these can be reprogrammed for V8 configuration. Envyous Customs would be the go to on that one.
