My VZ has brass (?) intake manifold vacuum ports.
Our VE has plastic and wouldn't you know it, one of them is brittle and has broke off the intake manifold.

Anyone know if these can be replaced?
Holden said the whole manifold has to be replaced. :/
Sweet gig Holden, replace a major component because of a brittle plastic tube.

I'm talking of the two either side of the intake manifold.

There you go,if you fit couple of these you won't have the same problem ever again.

They had to cut costs somewhere , but increase the price of the car ,
Don't worry, your not alone .

To clarify, those ports are screwed in?
I thought they were pressed in.

I'm a little confused, do I need to tap the holes to get these to screw in or are you saying the broken one I should have is already threaded and the broken bit can be unscrewed and the replacement from SuperCrap (etc) is screwed in?

Clean out the broken bit out of the hole then screw the brass port in...
Alloy intake is soft enough to be threaded ..

It was like 4yrs ago but the threaded plenums were a fine thread. Metric. Maybe a 1mm or 1.25mm pitch? I just screwed the brass fitting in regardless. The brass cut in the new thread. Then cleaned the whole thing down because it was off the car.

The thread on the plastic barb will be able to be measured. Both Bunnings and Repco, Supercheap have a thread ID board. Screw the plastic barb into it to find the exact match.

They can be replaced - Holden won’t sell you the part they’ll sell you the whole manifold

VZ ones fit from memory
