Possibly ECM failure. Need to get a scan tool and see if you can communicate with the ECM. If not check power and ground to it and if they are OK generally the module is cooked.

Does ENG light illuminate when in the IGN pos?

Does it have full battery voltage at the post on the front of the engine bay fuse box?

If you can't communicate with either ECM I'd say the first is cooked and the second wasn't programmed correctly or is also cooked.

On the ECM connector X2, pin 56 should have battery voltage, if not check fuse 10 15AMP in the engine bay fusebox.

Also check that relays 13 MAIN and 14 IGN MAIN along with fuses 28 15AMP and 39 10AMP are all good.

The grounds on the same connector X2 should be pins 1,2 and 4.

Hi all, complete noob here. have the same issue as above. Was on my way to work 3 days ago approx. 40 minutes drive to work (drove fine no issues at all and no warning light or anything appeared) All of a sudden car dies. Came to a complete stop put in park, key off then tried to start it and got nothing, would not even turn over. called roadside assist bloke comes out told him what happened he turns the key and plays around with the button on key and bloody thing starts. engine light is now on, he reset it never asked what codes came up. I did ask what the hell would cause it to die. he said " the car thought it was getting stolen hence why it shut off and couldn't start it again and to get myself a second key and reprogram set of keys.

finish work car started fine no issues on my way home. drove it yesterday for about 15mins car dies again got nothing at all as I attempted to start it. Again called roadside assist bloke comes out first thing he says its your alternator. he put his jump pack on it again starts. connects his volt meter to it and to his surprise voltage on battery and alt all good.

we both take off, I could barely drive the car very sluggish to give you an idea, I can go at the speed of someone walking fast. This car has got me scratching my head. Please keep in mind I don't know much about cars and have bugger all $$ at the moment to take it to the mechanics any suggestions on what I can try and trouble shoot myself in the mean time. As I am very stressed about this. Please Help

    Thanks

I couldn't say sry mate never worked on the utes .. at the back of your engine passenger side the should be a valve on the fuel line (similar to a tyre valve) switch u can push the valve in and if no fuel comes out the u know its fuel related

apparently with the ve ute's you need to remove the actual tank from the tray as there is no access to the pump from the tray. think that's way out of my league, there's a lot you need to remove to get to the tank. I will try the valve tho. I'll also check your issue with the loose earth on the ecm. Got a feeling it will be something stupid and simple. Will keep you updated. Where can I locate the ecm? and what does it look like. Sorry mate just learning.
