Hey guys My father inlaw has a moddified 06 GTS and is looking for a workshop manual for it, has anyone been able to obtain one? if so how much?? Regards Dan
If you mean the actual Holden one they are all online these days, not accessible by the public unfortunately.
Sorry to say this but a search does wonders: http://forums.justcommodores.com.au...119404-ve-service-manual-workshop-manual.html
I bought the 'pontiac' service manual on DVD from the US for $19 delivered. Covers everything including 3.6, 6.0 and 6.2 litre engines.
Holden are apparently going to make an online service manual available to the general public, but they're dragging their feet on it at the moment. It exists, it's just not out in the world yet. No ETA unfortunately, although I heard rumours of "by Christmas".
no offence bud, but wizeabe is right.... a simple search on "workshop manual" would have given you the answer needed. there's actually a few different posts on the first page of answers that would have given you the info required. and its not a matter of upsetting anyone, its following forum rules to avoid 50 different posts on the exact same topic.
I don't take offence and I'm not upset about it either, so don't worry about it. Plus I knew exactly what to look for because I did post in the original. Plus I found the ACDelcotds site through Google instead of searching a forum, so it was much harder for me to find it the first time round.
Has anyone tried this site 2008 Pontiac G8 Repair Service Manuals Which model Pontiac is equal to a VE 3.6 V6 ?
Hmmmm ^^^^^ Why go for a Pontiac Repair Manual when you can do a search for "VE Service Manual" on Ebay.com and find an exact match for your car. Check below for your needs; HOLDEN VE SEDAN SERVICE REPAIR SHOP MANUAL 07 08 09: eBay Motors (item 130439786107 end time Nov-03-10 21:05:02 PDT) HOLDEN VE SEDAN SERVICE REPAIR MANUAL 2007 2008 2009 07: eBay Motors (item 130442075733 end time Nov-08-10 07:40:18 PST) I have a VZ and I cannot find a direct VZ Service Manual so I have actually bought I think its a Pontiac and a VE. Total cost is approximately $50 combined. Hopefully they will cover most aspects being gearbox and engine variants. If not, its not really a huge outlay. And if I do upgrade to a VE in the future, I will be set already.
Hey Hey nice work there Holdon. I'm a little confused why an Americal seller is selling Holden (Aussie) manuals but hey. have you got yours yet ? Are they as good as they should be ?
Mine are on their way. Expecting it to take a couple of weeks though. Will let you know how they go. With the VE Commodore, I know that Holden Dealerships log into a server online to gain access to the VE Service Manual. The actual server is located overseas. Can't remember exactly where....maybe Canada???? So Im guessing if certain parts like gearboxes/engines etc are designed/tested/built in other countries etc, and also with the export of the commodore, then its not outrageous to think that America/other countries somehow gain access of workshop manuals and can get them onto disc. Hope the service manuals are up to expectations
Same here. Just ordered from that eBay listing above. Hopefully doesn't take too long to get here as it's being sent via USPS First Class International Mail.
I have the Pontiac G8 manual on the way from Canada, for under $AUD14 including shipping. I too hve seen the advertised VE ones, but my guess was that they were also the Pontiac ones. Would appreciate advice on whether the Ebay ones are in fact VE specific. If so, I expect that I would but one of those as well.
racka, are you suggesting the public will have free access to this online manual ? Man, that would be a first for Holden. Does anything like that exist for any other make of car on the net ?
I just received the Pontiac G8 manual as well. Seems really good for my MY09 SV6, except it does not cover the Aisin AY6 manual gearbox. I did not expect the SIDI engine to be covered because exports to the US stopped before that engine was introduced. If anyone needs it, I expect the engine should be covered in a relevant Cadillac manual. Has anyone received the advertised VE manual from North America yet? I would be interested to know if it is in fact the actual VE manual, or just a US equivalent.
I don't know if it's going to be free or not, but I suspect it's going to be a one-time nominal fee for access if it's not free. It'll stay online (ie no CD version) because then everyone has the most up-to-date version. The story I was told had a strong hint that it is going to be free though, but I have nothing to confirm that.
