VE2 Calais V Wagon
Hi All
My wife managed to "kill" a front sensor on her VE2 Calais V Sportswagon which has knocked out all park assist.
Firstly, are the front and rear sensors different (possibly different distance triggers??) and are they different to VF sensors?
Are they easy to get at or is it a front bar off job?
Cheers

I have not removed the Front Bumper Cover personally, but it is always a mystery if your not sure !
But to make it easier to investigate the fault,
May I recommend to Remove the front Bumper Cover.

Side Note: One would think they would be the same/similar, as they look the same/similar.

Thanks. Found a guide to removing a VE series 1 front - think the 2 should be the same or very similar.
(Think that like old christmas lights, when one sensor goes the whole lot front and back fail.)

Series 2 is the same. There are two types fitted to VE. However if you have front mount, they will be the proper factory ones, not the dealer fitted version that is only on the rear.

Thanks.
Now to find one as "stealers" want a pound of flesh for one!

eBay. Marketplace.

You will be most likely to get a complete set because the wrecker will need to break up a whole one to sell it individually. So you’ll get charged for a whole harness with sensors regardless and go home with one.

I should clarify. There are rear only kits fitted to lower spec VE’s by dealers as an option and that have audio only and no integration with the headunit. (Which also has the visual green through red proximity graphic)

The ones with front mount will have a different type and yes the back shares the part, but fits slightly different to the rear only dealer fitted version.

Here’s the dealer fitted one.

It pushes into holes made as opposed to the upspec ones that fit into a plastic bit joined to the bumper.

It also shows the part number so now OP has the factory part number and also we have the other part number.

Have replaced the damaged sensor, and there does not appear to be any other damage or loom issues.
Still have non-functioning sensors and the park assist error is still there - do I need a scan and removal of the error to work?
