Hey peoples i just finished changing my transmission mount over and while i was under the car i noticed that my car was leaking a fair bit or transmission fluid from my speed sensor. A drip every 10min or so. Awesome story i know...
So what i want to know is how does the speed sensor stay in place? And how is it sealed.
I can see from my not very usefull Gregorys manual and from what i saw under the car that there is some sort of metal clip that goes over the sensor housing. Is this supossed to hold the housing down as it just clips in, or is the housing threaded and screws into the box and the clip prevents it from unscrewing?
Also if i go to pull the sensor out, to change the O-rings or whatever it is that is leaking am i going to loose a gearbox full of oil out that hole?
Lastly if the sensor is drowned in oil will it still continue to function fully? my speedo does work for most the part the occasional bash on the dash gives me a 0 - 100 km/h in 0.2 seconds
