hey all
i have a airplane like noise (best way to describe it) coming from my motor (passenger side)
at first i though it could be the air compressor or the air compressor bearing?
i was going to get a smaller fan belt and put it on and test it maybe??
the sound all started after i got my aircon regased, which mind you was 6 months ago and only worked for a total of 3 wks, it's like now if i put the aircon on it doesnt kick in? i was thinking all this has something to do with the noise, now back to the sound its there all the time (argh) even when i put my put down its louder. i have a 2 and a half inch exhaust and its even louder than that! its a head turner... argh
any ideas? next question is has anyones air compressor or bearing gone, and if it has did it change the sound? like above?

Have you checked your hoses? Sounds like it could be a hose leak. Determine where the sound is coming from first and take it from there. If it's that loud it wont be hard to pin point exactly where it is coming from. You mean the aircon doesnt kick in or the noise?

LOL no and the noise is gone all gone.
it ended up being one of the idler pulleys and the air compressor bearing.
removed the extra pulley and put a shorter belt on today worked so im happy.
unfortunally i dont have a air con to i can afford to fix it prop but i guess il have to make do with it in summer...
a 2 minute job and to think i was driving around wit it for 3+ months..

doing the job half arsed eh? providing it isn't the internal bearing in the ac compressor you could've replaced the front bearing on the pulley fairly quickly without removing the ac compressor/messing with ac system, do the job properly and you'd have ac in the next month or so when it'd be nice.
