Hey guys, if a VY Calais II shows a ‘very low fuel’ warning on system check, will that disallow the engine to start? As in, the engine wont even attempt to turn over? Thanks

Nope, it just means you're almost ####ed, so do something about it quick smart. It will run till it's dry.

Also, I've found that if you reset your battery on sloping ground you can have way more or less fuel than the computer thinks.

If your car isn't turning over there is some electrical problem, possibly immobiliser related, possibly starter motor, possibly battery stuffed.

Yeah, was worried about that -- battery is good, but that's all I can guarantee; looks like fun times ahead. Cheers mate.

Do you know what angle the car has to be to fool the sensor into registering more fuel then what there is - nose down hill, or up hill? Thanks

Unless the car is on its roof its got to show a certain amount in the tank, unless you run around almost empty all the time.Grab your jerry can/fuel container and put 10lt-20lt in it and see if that moves the needle. And as for the engine that wont even turn over, try and see if it will start in Neutral (could be a faulty inhibitor switch) not allowing it to start in Park.
If you have a second key, give it a go,and clean the silver/chrome ring around the key slot if its all tarnished and covered in ****,as the key has to communicate with the computer via that

Yep, its left and right. Left side lower reads less fuel, turn car aroundright side lower reads more fuel. My trip meter jumped about 100km to empty when I did this. Disconnect battery each time. I'd be curious if anyone else has done similar?
