That is give or take the w407 spec mate and I know she hammers. Clubby in pic is almost identical. 3inch with bi modals, 17/8 pacemaker ceramic coated, otr, howards cam and tune. Produces 334rwkw which roughly equates to 407fwkw. Manual Absolutely fantastic to drive.

The deepness of the sound just doesn't translate to my mobiles mic, so it doesn't show it really well.

This is probably a half decent idea of what it sounds like ... not my car.

That was my criteria, similar output/ feel to W407. But I got a clutch/pressure plate/flywheel, slave cylinder, oil pump, pushrods, double valve springs and more for similar price to what Walkinshaw walnted for a basic W407 pack.

Its a great drive now.

Its a great drive now.

I find I can really only use 3 gears in suburbia and only wants 5th at 110k not 6th. Is this how you find the drive?

I use up to 4th round town. Gives a nice "old school fighter plane" sound accelerating in 4th from 35/40kph up to the suburban limit.

6th was droning badly at highway speeds, but much better now with the bi modal mufflers back on, so yes I was using 5th. I've only had it back for a week since the initial work was done and it doesn't come to work with me, but lives under a cover in the garage most weeks. I will have to get it out again this weekend and enjoy it some more.

Wow, I'm pig rooting in 4th at that speed. Cam is obviously different. Off hand I think rev range for the howards cam is 3800 to 7200. VCM11 is 3000 to 6800 which gives similar power but much more street friendly and my torque is 695 compared to your 702. You have a better setup by the sounds of that. My son follwed me on his bike the other week for a cruise and found it quite awesome to feel my rumble at idle on the road when he stopped behind me and feet went down.

How does yours idle when the engine is cold? Mine hunts around a little at times and almost stalls before it recovers. Trying to get it on the driveway (rolled edge gutter) and into a narrow garage has made me stall it more times than I like to admit. But I guess thats all about the cam. Yours I imagine would be even harder at idle to not stall. And you're right, mine is coming on at 3000 rpm, by 3500, is the highest increase in the torque curve.

Not too bad at idle even cold and my driveway is the same. About 50mm each side of the mirrors house and fence. I hate doing it but have to ride the clutch in reverse for about 20 metres inching out. Don't touch the throttle, ride and inch out backwards. Clutch crucifixion but only maybe once a month or less.
