I'm not happy with my the Bose 9 speaker stereo in my 2014 VF Calais V sedan.
For me, it lacks punch and bass.

I've been trying to find a wiring diagram for the Bose System without luck.

Does anybody know of an AMP/SUB upgrade for the existing 2 x 8" factory subs?
Or am I wasting my time and better off just throwing in a new AMP and Sub in a box in the boot??

Cheers

'Premium Audio', what a croc of ****.

You're better off with a complete new install. Big job though .

Great suggestion...except there’s nowhere on this forum where I can find out exactly how too.

Car audio noob?

This should give you some ideas:

There's a speaker replacement guide here on the forums somewhere, but you won't find a complete install guide, especially not for a Australian built car.

Thanks, but my question is directed at the BOSE System and anyone's experience in upgrades associated.

The BOSE System in a Calais V has multiple amps so just a simple speaker upgrade isn't going to cut it.
There's talk of a DSP and inverter needed as is a complicated system, I found a wiring diagram and the blinkers and reverse lights are also in the mix so it's a tricky one

Is the factory sub amp the same / similar to VE with rear factory subs ?

If so, these might give you a cheap fix.

Thanks for the clips, but unfortunately the VE is different to the VF......sigh.

Have since spoken to 2 reputable Stereo Shops and they've both said the same thing, any upgrade to a VF Bose System is going to be $$$$ ($4-5k).
Not sure if I'm that unhappy with the BOSE System now!

There are numerous threads over at ssforums based here in the states. Great details on tapping into the X3 connector before the Bose amp and powering different amps and speakers. The signal at the X3 connector is a good clean untampered signal being fed into the Bose amp from the head unit. B.
