Hi All. Have a VF series 1 Commodore with a bonnet that needs respray as have stone chips. Color is Perfect Blue. Can anyone give me an idea how much it would be to respray whole bonnet. I'm in Sydney. Previous owner did do touch up repairs but not well!

Thanks M

I had a small dent repaired and a total respray done on my S2 Red Hot bonnet.

The quotes I had were between $550 and $725. That was in Canberra though.

last quote I got for bonnet in metallic green was 500 a few years ago. 600 - 700 would be about right today.

I think that there are better kits around these days, that fill in the stone chips.
Although VF paint is so thin there may be no appreciable 'hole' to actually fill in. :)
But that way the inevitable paint colour-match problem is avoided.

The concept of one of the kits I saw, ages ago, was I think a powder which you fill the hole with, and then you melt/set it somehow (I don't know if it'd be a heat-gun as I'd think you'd run the risk of losing it on a hot day).
Filling the actual hole with paint is easy; it's all the excess paint outside that hole (and all over the paint around the hole) that's the problem! So maybe newer methods have a better way of removing that excess without making a mess?

If it’s just stone chips you could try https://drcolorchip.com.au/ I bought this for the wife’s car and it’s excellent you could not tell there was a chip there unless you got it at the exact right light and the colour match was perfect

Thanks all but I will def need a full respray and clear coat as previous owner did a bad touch up job. Can any one recommend a good and honest spray painter in and around Sydney metro
