My car developed an annoying rattle in the right front which sounded like it was emanating from the around the A pillar. It was not always there and you had to listen for it. But it was annoying! I tapped the inner guard cover (inside the drivers wheel arch) and the was something rattling around in there. It turned out to be stones from a recently patched hotmix road I had driven on. Once the stones were removed the rattle was gone. It might be worth you having a look there.

Sorry for my incorrect use of words. Thank you to those who politely corrected me. I did mean press the accelerator while the car is in neutral and is in a stationary position. Pity to those clowns who have no imagination. I was only trying to help a forum member.

Just wondering how they have fixed the front door wind noise issue. Is it just a replacement door seals or realignment of the doors or both.

    Thanks for the replies everyone.

The noise is not present when revving the car in a stationery position. I doubt very much it is 'stones in the guard' as I have not been anywhere that has loose gravel etc...

Smashfit, thanks for the suggestion but I don't believe it to be a fuel issue. I have filled it with different brand fuel from various locations and still the same noise, no improvement, in fact I think it's getting slightly worse. Whilst I'm not mechanic, I think it has to another problem. It's driving me nuts, not to mention the funny looks you get when you take off from the lights. Feels like I'm driving an old clunker from the 80's the noise this thing is making.

When empty run it on $30 worth of low octane std non etho. It is about 93 and if it is worse you know it is pinging it's head off. Heard of blokes with cars that have had to run on 98 but yours is worse. Good luck getting them to fix it though.

My 1 month old VF SS Storm has developed a whistling sound from the engine bay on cold starts, it comes in around 10-15 seconds after starting and is quite noticeable from outside the car, cannot hear it once inside and it appears to go away after it warms up. My attempted recording was poor and not worth posting, has anyone else come across or had this, It hasn't affected the performance at all.

Some trawling ive done from VE days suggests it could be alternator charging but not sure at all,

Any thoughts before i book it in?

    Cheers

    Hi all,

I took delivery of a new VF SSV Redline 3 days ago and from the first time I have driven it there is a wind noise from drivers door. Sounds like at ear lever and it makes the drive annoying and loud. 2 day old car and this. Any luck with a fix?
    Thanks

My Redline had a heater/AC software update yesterday when it went in for its 15K service. Apparently this is a brand new update and my VF was one of the first for it to be tried on.
The issue was the same as most - need to crank it to 26 to get any heat out of it and then it gets too hot.

Anyway, It did SFA and is just as screwed as the day it was delivered.

Take it back mate - this is a common issue. Heaps of people here with the same problem. I can't believe Holden haven't sorted it yet :bang:

Have it booked in on Monday for them to fix. Fingers crossed it goes well. I will let everyone know the outcome. And by the way I'm new here so Hello. After driving WRX's for over 14 years I decided I needed a switch and picked the Redline. Hope I made the right decision but so far so good. I test drove the 2015 WRX and there was something a little off about it.

Has anyone had the windscreen wiper recall action yet?

I have two cars involved, but a check at the dealers still indicates no further development for my Mar13 VE Z and Jul 13 VF.

Sometimes, the pump wont work when I try and clean my windows whilst driving. i.e No water comes out. But then when I try again 5 minutes later, works fine. Random.

Maybe happened 4 times in 6 months.

OK so I had my car in and they said the door had dropped causing the extra noise and that it needed an adjustment and that it was fixed. I went in to pick it up and the service woman said the same but added it been fixed as "best we can". I thought OK Ill drive it home and see. Still seemed overly loud.
Rang them the next day and spoke to service center again and said it wasn't fixed. The lady on the phone said Holden was aware of this complaint and that it was deemed "a manufacturing fault". I said WTF and asked for that in writing as I wasn't happy and wanted proof of what she said. She quickly said that she would have to speak with the service manager and he would call me back. That was Tuesday and as of right now, no call back. My first dealings with Holden are far from Rosie.

Sounds like a familiar dealership story to me.

...And I've heard it from all manufacturers, not just Holden...

My dealings at the First service was similiar...

Said they were not keen on replacing the rubber as the replacement rubbers arrive with creases or something in them and it would probably end up worse than what it is.

They said they adjusted the door etc.

But like you on the drive home it sounded worse than was before they touched it.

So will be getting onto them again at the next service.

    cheers
