I realize that lots of younger people are excited about the sound enhancer.

I have been waiting for VF II to arrive and I was hopeful that it would be an "option" on the SS.

It is not.

I do not want it.

You have to buy a much more expensive Calais ( bad value ) to be able to delete it.

Is it viable to remove it from the SS ?

Remove the junk from the engine bay, plug the holes.

Take off the rear muffler solenoids.

This sound radical but it is stopping me buying the car, this and the key less entry.

Appreciate any informed comments.

Regards All

I'm fairly sure you should be able to remove the piping from the engine bay reasonably easily and blank the air box and firewall holes. The yellow W457 that was at Camden Valley actually had what looked like a specific firewall blanking grommet. Any aftermarket CAI is going to render it useless anyway.

Then you could simply switch off the bi-modal in MyLink.

Simples.

Isn't the "sound enhancer" just a playback of the exhaust note through the internal car speakers?

No, not on the VF although some small cars do this. On the VF its a small pipe that is ducted to the interior from the intake so you can the intake sound. I'm a bit like the OP, I'd likely block it off

this is the lamest thing ever.

ask for it to be removed at sale. You'd be amazed what they will change for you before you take delivery.

As stupid as I think the sound enhancer is, you know it can be turned off via Mylink?
