Picking up my new MY16 SSV-R Sportwagon on Saturday and would like to ask a dumb question here rather than at the dealership !

Should the LS3 be run on 98 fuel all the time or 95/others.

buys a wagon on LEASE & doesn't know what fuel to use! reckon there dumbasses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Holden recommended 95 or above.
Personally wouldn't waste my money on 98, I don't see the gain for extra price you pay for normal day to day driving.
Have run 91, 95, 98, and e10 in mine haven't notice a great difference between any of them.

if you can't tell the difference between 95+ and e10 you probably need to revisit that.

e10 delivers less power and economy straight off the bat.

I can notice the difference between a good 98 like Shell and a bad 98 from one of those less mainstream service stations.

power: not enough to notice any difference day to day driving.
fuel economy: yes a small difference of no more than 0.5L per 100k, the gain not worth the extra price of so called premium fuel.
What I have notice is the United e10 95ron fuel give me same economy as premium 95, for a cheap e10 price.

I had an VCM OTR fitted with a tune done and gained 30rwkw and 47.5nm of torque. Anyone else done the same? Would be interested to hear what you gained. I chose not to change the exhaust as I did that with my old VE and I didn't like the note as much as the standard bi-modal LS3 mufflers. Which brings my next question. Can the bi-modal exhausted be made to run in open all the time and not have the butterfly valve being operated by the throttle position, but still allow you to be able to turn it off via the Mylink?

I bought a wireless Bi-modal relay from Automotive Lighting Customs(He is a JC member).
When I got it, it wasn't listed on his website, or eBay page, so I messaged him to enquire.
It may be listed now.
Its a modified relay with a fly lead to a black box, and a key fob controller.

Thanks Imoengnr,
I had a look on his website and Fb page but cannot find any info on it.
Please tell me, what do you have it installed on?
What does it do and how does it work?

Thank you.

I saw the item mentioned on a FB post, so I contacted him via messenger.
I'm pretty sure that you can get a similar product through LSXtreme, although not listed on the website.
I have it installed on my Magnum.
With Bi modals open on Mylink the system works as standard.
With bi-modals closed on Mylink, the key fob does the controlling, either open all the time, or closed.
