Just finally received a reply from Holden in regards to a map update for the VF. Just was wondering if anyone's had it done? or knows when the date it was released? theyve basically replied after a month saying " go to your dealer, they should have a USB memory card" S:S
I am too curious - I had my VF at Doncaster Holden in VIC Jan 2017 and they swore black and blue no update for maps. Find it hard to believe but I its a gripe with many other VF overs I am sure. Hopefully if somebody on the forum works for Holden they could give us some insight.
I've been waiting since Sep 2014 when I bought my new Redline. The maps were already well out of date back then, my own street in which we built our house in 2011 wasn't even in the map. Wasn't able to get a straight answer from the dealer as to when we could expect the update and raised it also with Customer Care as part of the service survey but still none the wiser. It's hardly satisfactory IMO.
Andrew, I would check it's definitely a map update & not just a MyLink software update. Someone on this forum, last year, was told they were getting a map update & it turned-out they got a MyLink update (which included the guide-lines on the reversing camera) and the maps stayed the same.
Just be patient people! I'm pretty sure the people tasked with updating the Mylink maps will eventually get around to it. They've almost got the VE IQ maps up to date, only 12 months behind, now.....
I had a VE1 CalaisV with the CD based navigation jobbie in the glovebox..Although the maps are somewhat outdated, the VF is a dream compared to that piece of crap..
Hi again, I received another message from them, they said its "scheduled for Feb 2017" So in other words, im assuming they have nothing.
I was talking to Holden online team yesterday and told me they're still working on the map update and should be ready for release in march, so still waiting waiting waiting!
I took delivery of my VF2 SSVR 2 days ago. I don't think I'm that dumb, but I'm having a hell of a time trying to work out the Nav. I had a VE2 with factory Nav and it was a piece of cake. I'll have to spend some more time looking at the owners manual I think. No one here has developed a 'quick start' guide to VF nav, have they?
I had my maps updated on the Calais last year. I noticed some new roads but the speed limit advice on the maps is still out of date for some roads which changed speed limit sometime ago.
There are no map updates while the original owners still live, that has always been Holden’s policy regarding SatNav. .
Guys I have already posted about map updates here on JC .. I have had my maps updated and it is documented http://forums.justcommodores.com.au...t-for-a-map-update.255047/page-6#post-2865371 They already have a map update , they are just BS you and string you along and give you months in the future they will be released, I had mine done last July as per YT Video below. No it didn't cost me anything either, nor will the next update. http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/attachments/serviceinvoice_ggcdb257084_redacted-pdf.183277/
The way you described how yours was done, I didn't think it was actually ready to use yet. It sounded to me as though you were some sort of experimental trial-run or other. They're not going to give away free map updates when there's nothing anywhere that says they'll be free & it takes half a day of someone's time to install them!
It was ready to use , I don't know what you mean. I had to drive around and calibrate the new maps, that's all. It's not an experimental trial run either. This was noted in the thread I posted. If you read the thread, this was done because I took them on through NCAT but it should pave the way for others to get the map updates when they say there are none which is not true. https://www.dropbox.com/s/lfdtw131vq8axir/Notice of Order_Redacted.pdf?dl=0 I provided my service invoice which states there was no charge. So again I don't know if you missed this . It's up to you if you pursue Holden for a no charge map update or not with this information that I have provided or wait until they "officially" release a map update which may never happen in the foreseeable future.
