Vf scuff plate removal

Bought some new scuff plates for my vf. Any tips on getting the old ones off? Any help would be much appreciated

Bought some new scuff plates for my vf. Any tips on getting the old ones off? Any help would be much appreciated
They're held on with self adhesive tap - hair dryer to soften the adhesive would likely help....

hair drier and some fishing line..

soften the double side tape and cut trough with the fishing line...

soften the double side tape and cut trough with the fishing line...
I use the hairdryer but not nylon fishing line.. it breaks if the scuff plate is hot
enuff to unglue itself, use the stainless wire tracer stuff fishermen use

VF Redline.1970 Dodge R/T Challenger 440 six pack.
Lift up one end with a screw driver and very carefully pull back on itself,most glue will come off on plate,any glue left sharpen an old screw driver and scrape off old glue,make sure you get it all off or new plate will sit high in places,when you fit new plate make sure you push it hard up against the kick Pannel recesse end and slowly lay it down as the new pannel just fits in,don’t try and safe old ones as they bend real easy,I didn’t fit the first one of mine hard up in recess and slowly press it down as I laid it,it ended up sitting up at finished end,to late to pull it up again,trimmed with scissors but not neat as factory,stuffed it not happy.
