VF SS Ute
Looking to replace two front seats in a 2012 VE SS series 2 ute with 2 front seats from a VF. Are these as simple as a bolt out of the exisiting VE seats, and bolt in job with the VF's? The VF seats are from a calais, I believe that the seats in the SV6, SS and Calais are all the same, and there are no difference from the sedan to ute? just some models have more leather then others?
Will the electronics from the VF seat plug straight in to that of the VE?
Any impact of the airbags?
Appreciate the feedback.
Thanks.

Yes straight swap.
Wiring between VE models is different let alone to VF.
Why not just swap the foams and covers over to your VE seat base etc?
Or you might be able to swap your VE electric motors and plugs across to the VF seat base.

Wiring is completely different mate.
I'm unsure whether foams will even swap across and get headrests fitted up etc as well...was looking at vf gts seats in my ve and wn seats in my wm...Both a nightmare from the beginning once you look at the wiring/memory functions etc

How much work is in swapping the foam and trim kit from the VF seats over and use them on the VE seats?
If wiring is different between all models am I going to have to find the exact seats that are currently in the VE if I want to swap them out and replace them?
Thanks for the replies.

This is what I mean.
The frames will bolt into the floor pan the same.
Its all the rest that is harder.
So the was posted in a recent thread and although shows a VY base illustrates things ok.

If you can swap the peripheral electrics from your existing seats across to the base of the VF, you are fine I guess.

The airbag stuff might be an issue. Just thought of that.

Thanks for the info mate.

Does anyone know if the VE series I and Series II wiring is the same? Rather then fitting a VF seat, I can pick up some nice Series I VE seats, but not sure if they will be plug and play into my VE Series II ute?

Cheers

I 'd be surprised if the seat wiring was different, but then who knows GM are a law unto themselves.

I'm looking at vf seats into ve still mate. If someone had the wiring diagrams would shed some light on what fiddling would need to be done..

Holden changed from their own electricals to the "Global A" platform when going to VF so almost all the electrics are different.

VE S1 have a number of different wiring configs.
VE S2 have more again.

VF, more again as above states.
