What's s touch up tune?

I'm definitely Joe Public when it comes to mechanics etc but my understanding is as the engine loosens it is possible to throw more timing at it than the original tune. Guess it allows for the generation of more power and greater operating efficiency?!

Hahaha yeah I saw this and immediately went out and reset my trip metre and went for a drive this morning. Might be able to achieve 12-13s if I don't stop at any lights but 13-14s I think is where I'll sit with moderate and occasional heavy pedal pushing.

Series II dropped DoD, so will use more fuel than a series I VF V8.

DoD is more marketing than real-world savings isn't it?
With the ability of engines to dribble along in ultra-lean mode in the sorts of conditions DoD is used, I wouldn't be terribly surprised if stuff like a freer-flowing exhaust &/or a set of extractors might improve fuel economy more than DoD does?

We know that using the official fuel tests the LS3 uses more fuel, but I think "heaps more" is very unlikely (as in, I don't believe real-world figures from L76 to LS3 will be as large a difference as the official figures).

1100km on mine now, and I am averaging 13.1 L/100 Km, mainly suburban daily driving, but I have really been enjoying the car ;)
