I snap 1st often. It's a strong box and driveline. Get into it, you won't hurt it.
What snap 1st at 45000rpm approaching a corner with blue and red lights in the rear view mirror?

45000 rpm?
I've never been booked for decelerating too quickly...

^ haha, was implying you were being chased for something else :p

rpm, not sure what it would be to snap from 2 to 1 at high rpm since haven’t checked the gearing as I let the auto do it’s own thing o_O

Plant your foot at the right speed/rpm and the auto will "kick down" to 1st by itself. You won't break it by doing similar with the shifter .

And if the gearbox doesn't like what you're trying to do, you'll get "Shift Denied".

it worked just fine, but it's so low it's not a good shift. no clunking.

i have never in all my years considered first a viable gear to shift into unless stopped.

i've driven down the toowoomba range more times than i care to count and i consider 2nd plenty to go down it.

i would rather use the brakes a bit down the range than hit first for a decent like that personally.
I only hit 1st gear that day because of the accident, the traffic was moving at say 0 to 5kph

Yeah, maybe. As with many things these days, the lowest common denominator must be catered for...You'd be surprised how high in the rev range it will let you select a lower gear though. It's a good thing really. Like knock sensors etc. Built in protection. Automotive prophylactics. ;)
