Hey fellas,
I recently got an apprenticeship and as apart of the gig i get to lease out a car of my choice. Now, the choice is obvious in the sense of what i am going with (VF), but whether i got the regular SV6 Sedan/Ute vs SV6 Storm Sedan/Ute.
What are your opinions on both and which one do you recommend.
Keep in mind i am a P-Plater.

the difference is minimal, you will get a cool storm sticker/badge lol

the main things that makes the storm better is you will get fog lamps and sat nav so really its all about the sat nav unless you like the word "Storm" here and there.
its a gimmick really.

get the sat nav(storm) as it can be handy to have sat nav without needing to mess with your phone, might save a fine or 2.

I would try and get a 4x4.
i have much more fun offroad in my Colorado, driving my vf onroad is boring lol

I think you will find that the storm is what they are building at the moment anyways! I think the price is close to the standard sv6 anyways....

You will want to act soon though as they will be making the my16 soon if they aren't already!

I'm 50:50 on whether SatNav is worth getting; it's not looking like upgrades are coming soon, and maps are already a bit outdated.

From that POV, because they're building Storms now & MY16 is coming soon, a non-Storm may be available at a bigger discount 'cos maybe the dealer will want to be shifting them. If they're around, in the colour you want.
Plus does the Storm have better wheels? I can't recall.

I think you should just look at what's available for what cost; see how much extra a Storm really costs, and whether it's worth that to you.

To be honest I don't know why you would even ask the question! I was looking at used my14 storms but ended up getting a standard my15 sv6 only because the price was right....

It's a no brainer!

Mate when I was a p plater (25 yrs ago) I had a gemini... it's taken me that long to get a current model! And that was used....

Plus does the Storm have better wheels? I can't recall.

all the ones I have seen have the same rims as the normal sv6.
you look at the "Vehicle Features" and its everything the normal sv6 has apart from fog lamps, sat nav, red stitching and storm logos.

fog lamps are just used to distract other drivers when there is no fog because every numpty thinks fogs on looks cool.
so really the main thing is the sat nav.
you could probably buy the storm badges on ebay for a few bucks.

if you could get a 2014/15 sv6 for say like 5g cheaper you could get aftermarket sat nav installed for like 1200 to 1500 with latest igo maps and save a few $$$ for better rims or lower it or tint etc.

checkout both if you can and of course don't let the salesman tell cool stories about how its the last one or how someones brothers mother is coming at 4 to check it out, there are lots of holden dealers around ;)

Storm also has red stitching instead of the standard white. I have a storm. IMHO it looks alot nicer inside. even the small details like the STORM into the dash on the passenger side. Along with black wheel inserts, sat nav, fog lights with different chrome surrounds. Well worth it for basically the same price
