if you are referring to something like the vf gts-r exhaust -> EC-HSVF-002.jpg (1121×1600) (planetparts.com.au)

as someone on here pointed out to me, the cross pipe is not welded all the way around, and likely only for support purposes.

but if you look in the big exhaust thread which talks about h-pipe location, i think its probably in a similar position being just behind the cross brace

Can you please link that thread? I'd love to have a read. I want to kill the drone in my car with a H pipe behind the centre brace, seems from the OP this works but can't find much other evidence of it being done successfully elsewhere on V8 automatics
