I drove around for a week with it disconnected to see if I would miss the in cabin intake sound, but I didn't. Cabin is a little quiter when cruising & light throttle overtaking and when WOT, I hear the exhaust note more :)

For sure. I had it blocked off in the past and did not miss the noise.
I also hate how heater hoses sit on top of the manifold !!!
They should not be hard to relocate..

Yeah me too. I've seen pics on the web of heater hose relocation kits. I might do it when it's time to flush the coolant which is a while away. I've only travelled 38k in my Redline, and still loving it.

Had the SSvR road tuned last week so no dyno number. One day I'll put her up to see what number it pulls. Overall, it drives nicer around town, part throttle is improved and overtaking is more effortless. WOT puts a bigger on my face. It's not a rocket ship (comparing to my previous modded subaru's) but she gets up and boogies now and I'm happier for it. One thing i'll say is the intake noise is very loud inside the car @ WOT :D

Here's another drive by at WOT.

Who would you recommend for a road tune?
Would you recommend it over a dyno tune?
I've had a dyno tune, a few years ago. I'm wondering if anything could improve anything with a road tune?
Do you think there's enough or a difference between the stock and rotofab? I'm thinking of going backwards from my harrop otr.

I'm not in Sydney so can't recomed any tuners. With previous cars that I have modified, mainly turbo cars, I have always dyno tuned and then had the tuner drive the car on the road for a day or so and make adjustments if needed. This time round, I didn't have the time for a dyno tune so we went with road tune 1st. (I'm not chasing numbers with this car, so wasn't fussed at the time that we didn't dyno tune it). If I ever do a proper full exhaust or change my HSV cats to 200cell, then I'll get my car dyno tuned.
I felt a difference when I installed Rotofab 8ntake without the tune, so yeah I think CAI or OTR makes a difference over the stock intake. From what I understand and read on forums, the Harrop/VCM OTRs will yield the most kw on dyno if you chasing numbers.

Thanks for that. I've had a dyno a few years ago, before I fitted the 340 headers. I was thinking a road tune couldn't hurt.

So after 10 weeks on order with CMA, my xforce exhaust finally arrived. I then had the headers ceramic coated and the rest of exhaust painted black as the xforce exhaust I ordered was non polished s/s and I didn't like the look. Due to stage 4 lockdown in VIC, I have to wait another 6weeks before I can install :(

That does look good! That was my main problem with that exhaust... it looks pretty average
Don't think i have the initiative or patience to get it painted. Still looking forward to hearing this thing when you get it done, and looking forward to this lockdown being over.
