Agreed that is 1200Kg bar, I thought bars that don't have the square hitch type were illegal now due to not so easy to remove the tongue when not towing. About three years ago I bought a used factory 1200 Kg bar for my VE SV6 just for box trailer and also bike rack. I fitted it myself, with the VE rear bumper the cut lines are marked on the back of the bumper. It's not difficult to do a pretty neat cut if you are careful. Probably about 6 months or so later I bought a caravan that is over 1500Kg. So had to pull that bar off and install a 2100KG bar (I bought weight distribution hitch separately).

When I bought my MY16 redline sedan I needed a towbar.
I asked the dealer for the heavy duty Holden bar and they all laughed, even the parts guy.
" how big is your boat mate!" They said. " no one gets that."
I have a small 18ft fibreglass boat.
So when I pock the car up, there is a new sticker in the drivers door for the tow bar.
" for trailers only" it says!
I called them and they assured me, even the pre delivery guy as well this time, that everyone gets the smaller tow bar and they can't remember the last time the installed a heavy duty bar.
Very confusing.
They did however do a very neat job on the cutting and trim.

There are 3 different available rated towbar available from Holden. (2 if its manual)
The OP has a 1200kg installed which is the tongue type, a 1600kg which is a 50x50mm and the 2100kg which is the 1600kg used with a load distribution hitch.
1200kg and 1600kg in manual only.... 2100kg available for auto.

I've not seen too many 1200kg tow bars fitted.

Is yours a 1600kg or 1200kg type?

I'm guessing mine is 1600.
It has the removable hitch.
The car is auto.
Actually sticker says:
braked -2100kg
U braked -750kg

Yeah mate, that's the one.
I had a blow up with my local Holden dealer who was adamant that they would only supply a 2100kg (complete with load distro hitch) and wanted to charge me $1400 as mine is also an auto.

Ended up contacting other dealers and Holden direct who confirmed that the 2100kg towbar is in fact a 1600kg without the load distribution hitch.

Mine also has the same load rating as yours on the sticker in the door jam.

Here it is guys
Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet

I also had to pay an extra $50 for the rim slip. It was ordered from Holden. This is the 2100kg heavy duty hayman reece hitch towbar.

Very happy now this all got sorted.

All up it was $850

Holden was charging I recall $970 fitted.
