VFII MY17 Redline Manual driveline vibration

Ive got a MY17 manual Redline which has driveline vibration and noise at about 80kmh. I first noticed it with less than 200km on the clock. It mainly does it when slowing down from more than 80kmh when in 5th or 6th gear. Push the clutch in, speed up or down from 80kmh, drop it into 4th and the noise/ vibration goes away.

Anyone had anything similar?

I took the tech out for a drive and he acknowledged there is an issue and it's a call to Holden.

Something wrong from factory, might be tailshaft???

That's what I reckon. U really notice it on CityLink especially in the tunnels. The dealer tech thought one option was exhaust but I would be surprised if an exhaust issue would cause vibration as well. He said if it's a tail shaft issue it would be at all speeds.

More than happy to take it down to Port Melbourne. Love to see inside.

What was the outcome with the driveline vibration, is it fixed ?

It's in at the dealer today. Holden Engineering told them to apply a fix to the exhaust. I'll know at 5pm whether the fix was successful. If not my car will be in overnight.

I have just heard from dealer. Nothing suggested over the phone worked. I did notice a vibration through the steering wheel. The dealer has balanced the wheels and they are perfect. They are not sure whether it's related to the overall issue.

Holden have now allocated a noise and vibration specialist to figure out what the issue is. Part of me likes the fuss. Other part just wants to enjoy the car. Issue clearly back with Holden so stay tuned.

I have a 2013 ssv ute under <50k kms with the same problem. It's most noticeable at 90Km/h in 6th gear. Below 80 or above 100 it's very smooth. It's less noticeable in 5th and not there in 4th. It also seems to come mostly through the steering wheel. I went for a drive with service guy while still under warranty and it didn't happen? !? I had the wheels balanced too, but it didn't help, although it doesn't feel like a balance problem. I thought it was maybe the gearbox but it comes mainly through the steering wheel? ! I'd love to hear if you can find what it is. I can then get the dealer to check it again. Thanks Geoff.
