VG fuel gauge sender question

Hi i need to replace my fuel gauge sender in my VG ute will a sender from VN-VR fit or does it have to be a VG/VP one?

IIRC, they are the same (sure all sender output the same from VN to VS as there is little in a dash cluster change). Horrible thing to get out too. Easiest to remove the whole tank and sit it on the edge of a table to get the sender out as it takes a little maneuvering :D

i have the same problem did you get around to a solution my biggest problem that I face is most of your vp/vr senders are top mount compared to the side mount my vg is a 1991 Ute and no one seems to stock the specific fuel sender unit.

The poster was last here in 2015. I'm pretty sure my VQ sender/pump unit is mounted on the side of the tank.
