I need help on a question I had cops in WA yellow sticker my ute for 18 inch wheels fitted. Telling me these are illegal . Can anyone tell me if these are as I can't find info anywhere.

Modify a vehicle

Modifications that don't require approval

Many minor vehicle modifications can be carried out without specific approval, as long as they comply with the applicable legislation. Modifications that don’t require approval include:

Additional lighting
Air conditioners
Air shock absorbers
Alarm systems
Badge bars
Body markings and speed striping
Gearbox (pre 1976)
Mesh stone shields for wind screens and lamps
Mud spats and pebble guards
Optional manufacturer seating
Radio and stereo systems
Rear-view mirrors
Roof racks
Seat belts for pre 1969 cars (no full harness types)
Single tone air horns
Stabiliser bars
Sunvisors
Torque rods and traction bars (not semi-tramp types)
Tyre size and aspect ratio
Venetian blinds and other internal screening systems are allowed, subject to a clear view to the rear.

Thanks heaps for the info and link helped heaps and saved me coin on getting new tyres n rims again I love my ute slowly coming together taking me a bit but these things take time!!

Correct me if i'm wrong. I believe it's illegal to put wheels that are over 2" bigger than factory on your car. Or so I've heard.

Wrong. Rolling diameter must not exceed more then 15mm from memory. Often achieved by running a smaller tyre on a bigger rim. 18's are well within the legal limits assuming you don't have crazy tall tyres (side profile of like 60 which wouldn't fit anyway)
