That would be cool! It might be an idea to build the box first, then buy the sub. That way you will know how much mounting depth you have.

Oh I have a sub, needing the same size enclosure as you have posted, so I might just see how that goes.

Hey sorry to bump an oldish thread

Im in the process of purchasing my first car (well ute - '98 VS III S) and am liking the sound of your sub enclosure 'vg ute mad'

Im a bit of a noob so i guess im wondering if your sub just pumps in the enclosure and you can hear it in the cabin, or if somehow the sound is projected into the cabin through the holes or whatever?

iv been meaning to do this for a while as im sick of my sub disconnecting from rolling around lol

but i use this space to sneak bottles of alcohol into Bathurst haha managed to fit a carton of T.E.D's and a few bottles cops were non the wiser :)

i havent got my ute yet so i wouldnt know

You tried and failed even without a ute lol?

Nah you just unscrew 4 holes and the plate comes out. Easy As.

Yea im still wondering how good the sound quality is. Does it being in the back under the tray reduce the quality of the sound from the sub?

Obviously its not going to be as good as an incab sub but its all you have to work it. Just think about it for a while and where the sub is and you will see yourself whether its worth it.
