VG Ute problem: cd player, tacho stays on when key is out of Ignition??

    I have a VG ute and when i turn the keys off the cd player ad taco stay on, and when i go for a five minute drive my battery will be dead, need help.............

    ok, tacho not turning off along with CD player is going to indicate that your car isnt switching the acc circut off properly... External tacho id imagine or else it means your ign relay isnt turning off either.

    Prehaps faulty relays but also a faulty ingnition switch.

    I i were you, id pull my steering coloumb off and then remove the switch at the rear of my ignition barrel, then using a screw driver, id turn the car on and then off again and see if the problem is still occuring.

    That will eliminate the barrel. If it is still doing it, replace the acc and ign relays. If its still doing it....reply here and ill think of something else..

    Sounds to me like your aftermarket(?) cd player and tac were put on a +12v battery line, instead of the +12v accessory line.

    Also, How old is your battery?
