Just finished fitting a 7HDD 4l60E into a VH SL/E 3.3litre (202) blue.
Parts required ...
1. CAE Rod Shop ..
bellhousing to block adapter plate
Transmission cross member adapter and mount
Speedbox and cable mechanical drive speed converter
2. Weber Performance (Vic)
Throttle position sensor (to suit your carb .. mine for triple DCOE45 Webers
3. VY or VZ shifter and console
4. Shorten front drive shaft, balance and fit 4l60E yoke
5. Wholesale Automatics (Vic)
Compushift Pro gearbox controller and harness
6. A good transmission oil cooler
7. Modifications required ....
VY/VZ shifter will need some heat bending to clear the gearbox.
The neutral safety switch needs adapting to the VY/VZ shifter
A flat plate will need to be made to bolt the shifter onto floor mount. (If keeping the original console a Dropbox is needed
Depending on your engine mounting position you may need to "squash" the drivers rail where the gearbox pan may just touch. (See photos)
Adapt or make a torque converter cover plate
8. We used a VE hi-stall converter which bolted straight onto the original trimatic flexplate with about 1mm of filing of the holes.
9. A flexible oil level dipstick and tube.
10. Of course a good 6HDD or 7HDD 4l60E
The Compushut is awesome!! Fired up without a hitch and eliminates the need for the original gearbox harness and controller and being an electric box and NOT a TR700 with TV cable makes the instal easy as.
AUTOMAC TRANSMISSIONS Norma Road Myaree did the excellent work of fitting and assisting in conversion.
