Vh body number identification

Hi guys trying to do some research for the Mrs. She has bought a vh shell to restore and it's in great nic body wise but she's dead set on only keeping it if it's an 82. Problem is it is missing the tags and only has the body number stamped in it. Can the year be identified by the body number at all. It is BVH 001871M.
I believe the M is Melbourne plant but besides that I'm lost. Tia

and BVH is design compliance letter and vehicle series, but you know that
